Do you have questions about your software or a specific product related question? We've answered some of the most commonly asked questions below. Q:  What's the difference between a "Database Version" and a "Desktop Version, and which do I need?

A:  The "Database version" contains your project database, the programs required to "interact" with the database and a license for one user.  The "Desktop Version" contains only the interactive programs and one additional user license.  Several "Desktop Versions" can be "connected" to the initial "Database Version"; with each "Desktop Version" adding an additional user (or computer desktop), but you must start with the "Database Version". 

Q:  Can I download a demonstration "Database Version" and a demonstration "Desktop Version" at the same time?

A:  No.  Download the "Database Version" first.  It must be installed on your computer before you  can "connect" the "Desktop Version" to it.

Q:  I have downloaded the "Database Version" and then the "Desktop Version".  The "Database Version worked fine, but when I tried to start the "Desktop Version, I got the message "Can't find linked tables in the Project_ST27_be database.  You must locate Project_ST27_be in order to use Project_ST15."  What's wrong and what do I do?

A:  Nothing's wrong.  Each "Desktop Version" will display this message when it is started for the first time.  It just needs to be connected to the actual database.  Just 'click' the "OK" button on the message, then the standard Microsoft directory box will be displayed.  The message on the top of the box should ask where the 'backend' is located.  If you installed the "Database" version to the supplied path and directory, you need to set this directory box to "C:/Program Files/ProjectST27" and 'click' the "Open" button.  You should see the file "Project_ST27_be.mdb" listed.  Highlight that file and 'click' the "Open" button again.  Your "Desktop Version" should start up automatically.  This process will need to be done once for each new "Desktop Version" of ProjectST.

Q:   Can I have more than one "Database Version"?  Can I have them on the same disk drive?

A:  Yes.  For example; if you have several departments within a large corporation, or just want each project manager to have his own database, you may load multiple "Database Versions" on the same disk drive (or a different drive).  However, during the download process you will have to specify the path and directory you want each "Database Version" to reside on, and name each database differently.  For example; you might want to name one "Database Version" 'Project_ST27_DeptA' and the next "Database Version" 'Project_ST27_DeptB'.  A folder with the same name will be created in the path/directory you chose during the download process.  Then as you download your "Desktop Versions", you can connect each desktop to its respective department.

Q:   Why must I download a demonstration version of ProjectST before purchasing the software?

A:  The demonstration versions of ProjectST are actually "full featured" versions of our software.  These demonstration versions, Database and Desktop, have "unlock" coding embed in the software to convert your demonstration version to a fully operational version.  When you purchase your version(s) from our website, we will send you an unlock code to activate your software, but there must be a version of the software on your computer to unlock.

Q:  Can I purchase a "Desktop version" without purchasing  a "Database version"?

A:  Yes, you may purchase the "Desktop version" without having purchased a "Database version".  This answer assumes that you already have had a demonstration "Database version" on your computer that  the "Desktop version" can be connected to.  However, when the demonstration "Database version" becomes inactive after 21 days, your "Desktop version" will become inactive at the same time.  But when you license the "Database Version", the "Desktop Version" will re-activate without paying any additional license fees.   

Q:  What operating systems is ProjectST compatible with?

A:  ProjectST is compatible with all Microsoft Operating Systems.

Q:  Are there an annual, maintenance or additional fees for the software?

A:  None.

Q:  How long can I use the ProjectST Demo and can I download a second demo version?

A:  Demonstration versions of ProjectST will "shutdown" after 21 days.  You may download another demonstration version of ProjectST, but the new demonstration software will know there are 0 days left in the demonstration period and will not operate.

Q:  How will ProjectST use my personal/private information?

A:  EBTek, the parent company of the ProjectST software is committed to protecting your privacy.  We will collect personal identifiable information with our shopping cart. However, this information will ONLY be used to verify the valid licensing of your software.  ProjectST does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. In summary, we are committed to protecting your privacy.

Q:  How do I get a refund from ProjectST?

A:  Call customer support at 1-866-571-9196.  You will be asked a couple of verification questions to insure the validity of the caller, then your refund will be sent via US mail on the next business day.  Your software will be deactivated on the same day.
